This week I want to introduce you to an exciting addition to our classroom! We welcome Ms. Monica Munoz to the Troy Preschool Program here at Troy Cronin! She is a certified teacher here to help our Spanish speaking bilingual students. The district hired Ms. Monica to help in several preschool classrooms here at Cronin, because of the high Spanish speaking population. She has begun working in our classroom part of the day and helping our students. She works within the classroom co-teaching and supplementing what we are already doing with our students. She is with us for part of the day on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays when Ms. Silvia is helping other classes. This week she supported our discussion on bridges, by working with small groups to plan and create their own bridges! I'm very excited to work together with Ms. Monica to support our Spanish speaking students!
This week we have been talking all about how bridges help people get things done. We read a fun book called Supertruck, that dug out a city after a snowfall. When the city was covered in snow, lots of things were not able to get done. The kids did a wonderful job generating a list of the ways roads help us get things done!
