Well, I can hardly believe it, but we are here at the end of the school year! We have one week left. Lots of important information for the upcoming week with fun activities planned for the last week of school. I am hoping the weather holds up so all the fun can happen!
This week we have continued our Insect Study. The kids love it! It is such a fun and engaging study. They have been practicing lots of new vocabulary words like exoskeleton and antennae. They have been very enthusiastic about their learning. All of our caterpillars are now in their chrysalis, and we are eagerly anticipating their emergence as butterflies!
Today is our outdoor lunch with families. We are excited for a picnic lunch and to see you outside! See you at 11:30 today. The weather is looking good!
Next week we have continued outdoor plans. Here is what you need to know:
*All events are weather permitting
Tuesday: Dance Party! We will be going outside by Door 10 for our morning gross motor time. DJ Ryan will be playing music and we plan to join. This will be from 10:45-11:15 on Tuesday. You are welcome to join if you like.
Wednesday: Field Day! We will be outside all morning, from 9:00-10:40AM, rotating through various stations. You are welcome to come and join in the fun and watch the kids play. Other preschool classes will be going through the stations as well, so you will have to look for our class. Feel free to pop over for any part of it if you can't stay the whole time.
Thursday: Beach Towel Reading! Please send your child with a beach towel. I will be reading our morning story outside that day and we will sit on beach towels outside to listen. We will do this after we leave playground at 11:15, so it will be around 11:20ish that we begin. Feel free to join your child on their beach towel as they listen to story. We'll go inside afterwards for lunch.
*Please note that I asked if families could join on playground for the different days, and was told we can not do that, so the times provided are really just for that exact time.
*Please also note you are not required to join us for any of this. It's just fun opportunities to be part of school things. If your schedule does not allow for it, that's OK!
Friday, May 27 will be our last day. It's a half day, early dismissal at 11:50.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your help and partnership this year! It's been a privilege to work with your children this year. Amidst all the COVID chaos we have worked with, the kids have grown, learned, and are a very smart group. They are ready for Kindergarten!
