Pet study is continuing to be so much fun for all the kids! We've been talking about which animals are good pets and which animals do not make safe pets. We are also talking about characteristics of different animals, noticing things like feathers and scales! We had a fun treat this week when a parent showed their dog to the class virtually through a Google meet! The kids were so excited to meet a classmate's dog and learn more about dogs! They got better this time at asking questions, and learned lots of new things, like what the dog eats, how he plays, and where he sleeps! It's so much fun to learn more about our classmates as well! If you are available to show the class your pet, we'd love to have you too! We also welcome pictures of pets to hang in the classroom.
Today we will say good-bye to our lunch monitor, Ms. Gina, that helps us in the middle of our day. She is retiring and will be home with her grandchildren. I mention it in case your child talks of saying good-bye to Ms. Gina. We will miss her, but also have someone new to fill that void when we return from the Thanksgiving holiday.
Next week we will hold Parent/Guardian-Teacher conferences. I am looking forward to talking through your child's progress this school year! If you are unsure of your time, or have a conflict, please reach out to us! This is an important opportunity for us to touch base and help your child continue to grow.
After the conferences, we will enjoy a well-deserved break for the rest of the week.
Wishing all of you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving holiday! I am grateful for all you do to help your children progress, and for your children that bring us smiles every day!
