We have had another busy week here in preschool! We finished up our Tree Study this week, learning about what animals live in trees. Next week we will begin a new study on bread! I think it will be fun and exciting for them to learn about different kinds of breads, cultural celebrations that include bread, and about how bread is made.
Monday will be our Halloween party! The kids have been telling me all about their costumes and are very excited to celebrate together! If you are not scheduled as a party volunteer, please know you are very welcome to come at 9AM and view the costume parade. The whole school will be parading and I know the children will be excited to see their families. After the parade, any family members who are not party volunteers will then return home, but the children will stay at school. Children should still plan to come to school at the regular time, in costume, and will be dismissed at 11:50AM because it's an SIP day. If you want to send treats for the class, this is allowed. However, all treats must be healthy and nut free. Another option is to send non-edible treats such as small party favor type items. Treats are not mandatory though, so no worries if you don't have something planned. Please know that we have 20 students in our class and if you are sending something, you should plan to have enough for each child.
Our first Learning Together Day is coming up on November 8! I am excited for this opportunity for you to learn together with your child all about math and numeracy, and how to extend your child's learning in this area. Our Learning Together Day is from 2-3PM on that day.
Next week I am going to begin library check out for our class. They will choose 1 book each week to check out and bring home. Our library day will be Thursday. Please keep the book for a week and return to school the following Thursday, so your child can choose a new book.
Enjoy the rest of this beautiful weekend!
