Our theme this week was vehicles. We read two books-one about school buses, and another about trains. The children enjoyed painting with car wheels, and it made for some interesting art projects. We learned the letter R for our Handwriting Without Tears. In Second Step, we talked about naming our feelings, and reviewed how we can put our hands on our tummy and say, "stop," when we are getting a bad feeling like feeling sad, or worried, or scared.
Reminders: Our Young Athletes program will be starting next week. If you have not yet returned the necessary form, please do so as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity that all of the preschool classrooms are participating in. We want all of our students to have this opportunity. Please let me know if you have questions about the program.
Placement information for next year has gone home. If your child is moving on to kindergarten, please look for the informational sheets regarding kindergarten registration. All students received these, even if they are not yet going to kindergarten. If your child is returning to preschool next year, those sheets have also gone home. Please note, I do recommend moving your child to the afternoon class, because this is more academically rigorous, getting them ready for kindergarten. If you are able to make an afternoon class, that would be the most appropriate placement.
