This week we've been talking all about animals that live in the trees. We've been drawing animals in our journals, and making animals in art center! We read the book The Grouchy Ladybug. The kids love the repetitive nature of this story, and they are also learning about managing emotions and not "fighting" like the ladybug did.
Our nutrition lesson this week was called The Two Bite Club. Kids have been doing a great job trying 2 bites of all the different foods on our plate at lunch. You can reinforce this at home too encouraging them to just try out a new food, and see if they might like it. I'll soon send home their 2 bite club certificates for all our brave eaters that have tried to eat 2 bites of everything at lunch!
Next week we will plan for our Halloween celebration on Wednesday afternoon. The kids are excited! Kids may wear costumes to school that day. They just need to follow guidelines of no weapons or violence depicted. So if the costume has a gun or sword, etc, please leave it at home.
**Important Bus Safety Reminder**
Parents are responsible for putting their child on the bus and buckling him or her into the seat. Parents are also responsible for unbuckling and escorting their child off the bus when he or she is brought home. For the safety of our young students, it is our policy that the bus driver will only drop a child off at a home at which an adult is present.
If the parent is not available, then it must be an adult (over 18) that comes out to the bus.
Thank you for helping to keep our children safe!
