We had a short and busy week here in Room 27. The second trimester ended on Friday, and I am busy preparing everyone's report cards. Everyone has made such wonderful progress! I am so proud to see all the children counting, naming letters, recognizing shapes and so on. Progress reports will be coming home on Thursday.
This week we learned the letter A. We've learned 19 letters so far this year. Once we complete all of the letters, we will continue to review all letters. We also practice letter sounds, and as the older students become ready for it, they are encouraged to sound out simple words as they write in their journals. This upcoming week, we will be learning the letter M.
We continue to study Community Helpers, and the children have enjoyed dressing up as various community helpers in our dramatic play center. We read a story called, Franklin Goes to the Hospital.
