What an exciting week we have had! The kids made real pancakes and they were so proud to be so responsible! We have talked about the steps involved, how to measure ingredients, and lots of new vocabulary for cooking terms. The recipe and some measuring tools are now in our dramatic play center for them to continue reenacting this!
Cold Weather Reminders:
We continue to go outside even as the weather gets cooler. Preschool children are outside as long as it is not wet and raining, and the temperature is between 25 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Please send outerwear that will help them to be comfortable in the cooler temperatures, including hats and gloves. If any families have difficulty purchasing additional clothing, please send me a private message. Our school would be happy to assist you! Please also be sure that you have cooler weather change of clothes stored in your child's locker in case of an accident. If you are not sure if you have this already or not, please send me a message, and I will check for you. Accidents do happen in preschool, whether it is paint or milk spilled or a bathroom accident, so it always helps to be prepared!
Halloween Activity Day Reminders:
Children may wear costumes to school. Please no violent depictions or weaponry. Masks may be worn for the parade only. Parents are invited to come and view the parade from the gym. Volunteers should plan to stay with our class for the full session. You are welcome to send in edible or non-edible treats for your child to share with their classmates. We will send them home in the backpack. Please be sure they adhere to the school's wellness policy, so no candy will be allowed.
See you all soon at the Side by Side on November 2! I am looking forward to this special time with families!
