We have had so much fun this week with Spirit Week and Halloween activities on Wednesday! The kids had a great time and teachers too! Ask your child to tell you about The Little Old Lady who was Not Afraid of Anything. If they start talking about shake shake and wiggle wiggle, they are on the right track. We read a fun and repetitive book and the kids loved it. Reading silly stories in dramatic ways often helps kids develop a love of reading and helps them begin to recall stories.
We are finishing up our Tree Study today. The kids have done a wonderful job with this study and have learned a lot. They have been so excited at snack time to tell me about how their pear or apple comes from a tree. Next week, we will begin to study Wheels! I am excited to continue our learning with new things!
Everyone has continued to do a wonderful job interacting and talking to each other, while also following social distance guidelines. I am so impressed with their flexibility! What seems hard to us as adults for guidelines in a school setting, is turning out to be just fine for the kids. I am hearing them talk to each other from across their pods during center time, showing each other what they are making. They continue to love playground time, (when it's not raining!)
All the while, terrific learning is taking place. I am seeing your children beginning to learn to write their names, counting higher and higher, and learning new letters and other literary concepts.
Please see the calendar on our Home page for upcoming dates. I am also sending home today the November calendar for the front of their folder. We have a picture day date for our classroom, and the final week of November will be parent teacher conferences. I'm looking forward to talking with all of you about your child's progress!
