It's been another great week here in preschool! We've been talking about how clothes are made. We've also been focusing on learning how to read environmental print. This means your children are learning how to read signs that they are already familiar with. It's just another way to connect letters to words and help them know that these letters have sounds, and the words have meaning. Many of your children are already reading words like Walmart, McDonald's, Mariano's, and more.
Next week we will all enjoy a week off with our families. I hope your family will be able to enjoy some time together making memories. As we return, we are in full swing preparing for kindergarten! Your kids have done a great job this year. We are working on those last things to help them be prepared as they go off to kindergarten. I am confident they will be ready and successful as they move on.
Friday night after we return, we will be hosting "Fruits and Veggies to the Rescue," here at Troy Cronin. I plan to be there, as well as at least one of my sons will be helping in the open gym. The kids have talked a lot about healthy habits this school year. This is another opportunity to help them learn to try new fruits and vegetables and find out how great they can be!
The following Friday, April 12, we will be hosting our final Parent-Child Learning Together Day of this school year. This one will be focused on STEAM: Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math. This one will be encouraging your child to think critically and discover answers to questions like how and why as they experiment with scientific materials. It's sure to be a fun and valuable experience for both you and your child. Please plan to make time for this important activity, or to send another beloved adult to attend with your child.
We will have one more week of Clothing Study after our Spring Break. Then we will be heading into our Exercise Study!
