It's been a great week! I so enjoy this time together with your children. I'm going to miss being together with them in person over the next 2 months. They've built strong relationships with each other and with their teachers. Remote learning is the safest option at this point though, so I am glad for the time we have had, and we will continue to work together to help the kids continue their learning from home. Yesterday we sent home new additions to the At-Home Learning bags. Please add those items to the bags so you will have the supplies you will need. Today we are sending information about the report cards, some social activities, and a social story to help your child process the return to remote learning. I think this story will be beneficial for all children, to help them understand what is happening, and talk about how they feel about the changes.
Next week we will have no school for the Thanksgiving holiday. We do have parent-teacher conferences on Monday and Tuesday though. It is important that I meet with all of you. This will help us work together to continue to help your children. Please see the email from Minnie for the link and time for your conference. I have lots of wonderful progress to share with you! If you are unsure of what time your conference is, or how to get the link, please reach out to me.
The week after Thanksgiving, we will have school again, but this time remotely. Please plan to meet us all on the big group link every day at 9:30. Please bring your white board and dry erase markers to this large group time. Also please plan to attend your scheduled 1 on 1 and small group sessions. If you are unsure of the times and need a reminder, please let me know. I have not changed any of the times from what we scheduled at the beginning of this school year. If you have decided to add additional groups, such as social group, just let me know. We'd be glad to have you join us! I will send out weekly updates of what materials are needed for specific small groups each week, just like before.
This week we talked about how wheels move and how we can make our own wheels. Kids have been constructing their own art projects with wheels! It's fascinating to see how they figure out to create things! When they come home with their constructions, ask them about it! See what they can tell you about their plans and work!
As we head back into remote learning, I will stop posting here, and condense our communication back to the Google Classroom. You will be well informed of our activities, since you will be working closely with me.
I hope you all have a happy, safe, and healthy Thanksgiving! I am so very thankful for the gift of your children and your partnership with me. This is a delightful class and your hard work in helping them grow is evident. Thank you for all you do!
