We have had a great week! The kids are so excited about seeing new signs of spring. When we go outside, they love looking for insects and plants and animals. We have been reading a lot of informational books to learn more about all these various things, and their curiosity is really blossoming. It's wonderful to see how excited they are to learn new things!
We are also finishing up our Exercise Study this week. We focused on exercise equipment this week. They continue to be enthusiastic about learning different ways people exercise and the equipment that is used.
When we return after spring break, we will begin a new study- Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle! April is a great time to study this, as it also has Earth Day, and because kids are outside more and can learn more about Earth's environment. We have been saving up a variety of recyclable materials for them to use in their pods. Boxes can become blocks. Plastic bottles become 3D art. The possibilities are endless!
There are a lot of upcoming dates in April too. We will be holding Transition to Kindergarten meetings, another Learning Together Day, and pictures. Your April calendar is on the front of your child's folder. There are lots of things coming up to be sure to mark on your family calendar!
For more information about kindergarten registration and readiness, please see Mrs. Howard's Kindergarten Registration and Readiness !
Next week we will begin our Spring Break, and there will be no school next week. We will return to school April 6. Please remember that preschool will not be increasing our hours in April. We will continue with our 8:35-12:35 hours for the remainder of the school year. Also, as the rest of the district increases hours, our SIP day hours are effected, because of busing. So the upcoming SIP day on April 20, we will dismiss at 11:50, rather than our usual 12:35. This is also noted on your April calendar on the front of your child's yellow folder.
Have a wonderful and restful Spring Break! We will look forward to seeing kids again on April 6!
