Wow! We are already heading into our final month of school. Children have made so many wonderful gains, and I am so proud of them. This weekend I worked on making our May calendar and we have lots of things coming up in our final month. Please be sure to look at your child's yellow folder to ensure you are aware of all the upcoming important events!
We were excited to come in on Monday and find that are caterpillars have made their chrysalises. They have been moved to a butterfly netting for observations. We have read lots of books about metamorphosis and waiting. It will take about 2 weeks for our butterflies to emerge, so we have another week to go. The kids are eagerly anticipating the arrival of butterflies!
We had a great day on Friday for Career Day! We had a firefighter, pediatrician, veterinarian, bus driver, and race car driver! It was so much fun!
We have another Family Engagement Friday coming up this week! We will be doing planting, reading, playground time, and messy art! Did you know that doing messy art contributes to early reading skills?! I am excited for another great Family Engagement Day! More information will be coming home about this on Monday!
Friday is also our Kids Day Festival! Please see the attached flier for more information. Is your child entering preschool, kindergarten, or 6th grade next year? If so, bring a copy of their current school physical* and immunization record (dated on or after August 22, 2023) to the Dia El Nino Kids Day Festival on May 3rd from 5:00 - 8:00 pm and they will receive free ice cream. *Sports physicals will not be accepted.
